Hello, I am Cem Ergul, experienced guitar teacher and all-round guitarist. I offer guitar lessons at your home in Rotterdam to beginners and advanced, children and adults.

Advanced Classical - Spanish Guitar

Are you an enthusiastic lover of Classical Spanish guitar music too? Get inspired and develop your skills with in person lessons and explore the most wonderful compositions by Rodrigo, Albeniz, de Falla or Ginastera! Do you wish to play Bach or other baroque composers? I'm specialised in Classical guitar and the classical and contemporary repertoire. Just arrange a trial lesson!

Pop to World Music

Since there is more great music for the guitar than only classical stuff, I teach also pop, jazz, songwriter and many different traditional music styles, like Turkish, Kurdish, Armenian, Azerbaijanian and Persian. The lessons can also be held in Turkish. Lessons can be on acoustic or electric guitar. Explore the use of pedals and software.

Beginner Guitar Lessons - All Ages

There is no such thing as too late! My guitar lessons are for adults, teenagers and children. The guitar is waiting to be discovered by you anytime. However, the best time is now!

What can you expect?

You will learn how to play with plectrum, finger style or classical technique. You'll learn chords, tabs and to read music. When you practise focussed and frequently, you'll find yourself playing your first guitar tunes in no time!

Posture

To be able to play with a relaxed posture is important. With exercises for your left hand you will learn how to make fluid transitions and also how to grab chords in a proper way.

Ukulele Lessons

Do you wish to learn Ukulele and sing along with that beautiful instrument? Then my lessons are the right place for you! Bring your own songs and learn more chords and strumming patterns.

Music Theory

From the very beginning, like reading music or differentiating styles, to the very advanced subjects like modern harmony, composing and arranging, everything is there for me to teach you.

About me

I studied at the Mersin University Conservatory from the age of 8 and graduated from the Conservatory of Antalya at the age of 18. During my time studying, I gave countless solo recitals and performed with bands of different genres from pop to folk. I have received first prizes in Istanbul Guitar Festival (Turkey), Eduard Pampfil Guitar Festival (Romania)and Alirio Diaz Guitar Festival (Italy). The subject of teaching was always very intriguing to me and I started teaching when I was in High school. I taught children, Adult amateurs and Conservatory level students. I not only love teaching but also understanding the student and his/her motivations and passions. Inspiration is the most essential part of learning music and I help students to discover and nourish that inspiration.
