We use the best of modern tuition materials and personalised exercises. You'll learn to read sheet music and a healthy and relaxed posture. You'll learn a solid technical (classical) basis and functional music theory.

Playing  beautiful classical beginner pieces , scales, chords, etudes, quatre mains, popular and well known songs and melodies will motivate you to do play your piano as often as you can!

Advanced - Classical Piano Music

If being able to perform your favourite pieces by Debussy, Schubert, Mozart, Chopin, Ravel or Scarlatti on a higher level is your desire I'm your teacher! Facing some technical problems you wish to solve? Wish to play more beautifuly and with ease? The lessons cover technique, etudes, scales, music history, music theory, interpretation and new repertoire!

Creativity in the Learning Process

Finding your own relation to piano playing is fundamental. We will achieve this using exercises to build an organic technique, combined with ways of exploring the insides of music. For that, we will dive into different types of improvisation (either fixed or free), work on ear training, and note reading. It is in fact an intense and exciting journey!

Classical - Tango - Contemporary

I work in a thorough and holistic way to achieve the highest level in understanding, interiorising and performing pieces. My experience includes pre-Baroque composers, all great Classical composers, Tango, up to contemporary music, as well as a good understanding of styles and theory. I 'll provide a proper technical background (both studies and exercises)

I teach the piano lessons at your home in den Haag, Voorburg and Rijswijk, or at my own place next to Hollands Spoor station.

Online Piano Lessons

I also offer online piano lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced. Live feedback and instructions!

About Joel

I am a professional classical pianist, teacher and creator with a Bachelor's Degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and a Master's Degree at the Royal Conservatorium in the Hague, where I received the Cuypers Fund Prize for the best piano performance, with a grade of 9,5.

My repertoire consists of solo piano and chamber music, and I am also a capable accompanist and composer. I also work on interdisciplinary performances. Together with my Quinteto del Diablo, an ensemble featuring Argentinian new-tango music and my own compositions, we have been presenting a collaboration with dancer Rosanna Ter Steege in a performance called "The Devil on the Dance Floor".
