Hello! My name is Aleksandra, I am an all-round violinist from Poland. I am a friendly, enthusiastic, and experienced violin teacher in Rotterdam. My one-on-one violin lessons are for students of all ages and levels.

Violin Lessons for Children

With fun musical games your child will discover the violin, how to read sheet music and basic music theory. Holding the violin in the correct way is an important first step. We use playful exercises, famous classical and popular tunes and the lessons have a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Violin Lessons Adults - Beginners

If you have no musical experience or you have just started playing the violin, we will work together on developing basic skills of violin playing and your musicality. You will learn to read musical notation, some basic music theory, scales, exercises and beautiful classical and popular tunes.You will love it. It's fun!

Trial Lesson - No Violin Yet?

That's not a problem. You don’t need to have your own violin for the trial lesson. If you decide to continue, I will gladly advise you where you can rent or buy a suitable violin.

More advanced 

In our first lesson, we will discuss your expectations, evaluate where you are at the moment in the violin studies, and choose the right repertoire for you.

What Can You Expect?

You will play sonatas and violin concertos by well-known composers such as Vivaldi, Bach, or Mozart, next to etudes, scales, and other violin studies improving on your violin technique. Enjoy playing beautiful, lyrical violin miniatures by Wieniawski, Kreisler, Brahms, and other famous violin masters. Discover various virtuoso techniques: staccato, spiccato, double-stops, and chord techniques, work on varying your vibrato and improve sound projection on your violin.

Baroque Violin Course

Would you like to get to know a different, more authentic side of the violin? Have you played classical violin before and are now thinking about playing baroque violin? In this music we play on gut strings. I would be happy to help you make this transition. Explore the Italian, German, and French violin literature from the Baroque period.

Chin Off!

As a professional historical violinist, I will teach you how to approach this unique instrument. During the lessons, you will discover the freedom of playing 'Chin-Off' (without a chinrest or shoulder rest attached to your violin). You will also find out where you can rent or buy a good and affordable baroque violin, baroque bow, and the necessary gut strings.

Lesson Location

The lessons are held at my home studio in the city centre of Rotterdam. It is very easy to reach by public transport.

Violin Lessons at Your Home

In special circumstances, I can also teach at your home. Depending on the distance, I may charge a small compensation for the travel costs.

Online Violin Classes

Do you prefer not to travel? You can also take online lessons, no problem.

About Me

I am a violinist with a classical music background. I started playing the violin at the age of 6. From that moment on, I have never stopped following my passion for this beautiful instrument. I graduated with a Masters degree in baroque violin 'with distinction for artistry' from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Earlier in 2015, I completed my classical violin studies with a Masters degree from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (Poland). As a violin soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player I have been performing in many countries throughout Europe, the USA and Indonesia.
