I offer instructive and motivating private transverse flute lessons for children, teenagers and adults of all levels. Play your favourite music, from baroque music, classical repertoire and chamber music to famous romantic melodies, songs and sound tracks. From World Music, classical contemporary music to pop!

Flute Lessons for Children

The flute can be played from a young age. It is ideal to start flute lessons from about the age of 7. Children learn to play the flute in a playful way and will enjoy musical games and easy tunes! Reading sheet music is part of the lessons, they learn a solid musical basis and of course we play wonderful classical and modern fun duets together!

Beginners

As an adult beginner you will enjoy learning the basics of music, reading notes, easy songs, (classical music to pop,) posture, embouchure, sound production and a proper breath control in a motivating atmosphere. We play duets for 2 flutes and easy classical and popular tunes and songs. Basis music theory can be part of the lessons.

Flute Lessons Advanced

My flute lessons for intermediate and advanced flute players cover every aspect of technique as well as breathing exercises, scales, sight-reading exercises, arpeggios. Develop a perfect legato, staccato, from pianissimo to fortissimo with a bright and warm sound. You will learn more about musical, theoretical and historical backgrounds of your favourite music.

Baroque Flute - Traverso

If what moves you is baroque music and the sweet sounds of the baroque flute (Traverso) and you love composers like Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, or Telemann, let's enjoy and learn specific techniques, articulations and ornaments.

Audition or Exam?

I happily guide you and share my experience if you want to prepare for an audition or entrance exam.

Student Concerts

Over the years, organising student concerts has become a tradition I really look forward to. Once or twice per year, my students invite family members, friends, and colleagues and we all gather to play flute duos, trios, with piano or any other combination. We love sharing what we have all learned so far!

About Me

I am Anastasia, a freelance flutist from France, and I have been living in Amsterdam with my family for four years. I obtained my Bachelor's degrees in Versailles and Paris Conservatoria. I continued my further studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, under the guidance of Marten Root.
My passion for authentic performance practice has inspired me to specialise in historical flutes, so the flutes as they were made and played from XVI to XIX centuries.
I am a passionate teacher for a dozen years - both children and adults feel comfortable starting the flute with me. I have an active concert practice, but now my activity is mainly concentrated around teaching. Feel free to contact me and to come to my cozy musical studio, located in Amsterdam Ijburg!
