Musical Grammar
Insight and knowledge of music theory also give you guidance in your interpretation of the music you play. Of course knowledge of music theory is indispensable when you compose music. Complicated and difficult? You can think of it as grammar, which helps you better understand the language (music).
Composition and Arrangements
My lessons offer detailed information and insights on music theory, composition and arranging. Useful tools if you wish to give a voice to your musical ideas! Learn to write your own tunes for several instrumentations, e.g.: strings, woodwinds, brasses, percussion, jazz, pop/rock or various combinations.
Harmony and Melody
By learning chords and harmonic functions, you gain insight and guidance in building melodies and solos. So you learn a basis to improvise more interesting solos, if you want to play jazz for example.
Music Theory - Harmony at the Piano
It is ideal if you have a piano or keyboard, so that you can see and hear how things work in real life. We use Keyboard Voicings, Microjazz (R&B, pop) and/or Jazz Hanon (Chord-Melody) , Harmony (chords, scales, tonalities, progressions, modulations, rhythms, time signatures, circle of fifths, etc.)

These methods above also have a CD or online audio option (play along), so you can practice and play at home too.
About Nuno
Hi, I graduated as Master of Music at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and I have several projects as a composer/ arranger and bassist. In addition to an active life as a musician, I also teach the following subjects to to all levels and ages: Bass guitar / Contrabass, music theory / composition & harmony at the piano: In English, Spanish, Catalan or Portuguese.
I have made arrangements / compositions for, among others, the Fuse Ensemble (NL). And I play live with my Jazz Quintet where I play bass and compose for this band, with which I recorded a CD, 'Vortex'.
