Ukulele Lessons for Children and Adults

The ukulele is a fun and easy instrument to learn to play. Music connects many skills and gives us a beautiful and nice way to express ourselves. In my lessons the starting point is fun and your own way of exploring and growing. You learn to play and sing (pop) songs that you like. And you learn about proper posture and different ways to play (strumming patterns, finger picking and guiding yourself while singing).

Your favourite Music

Let's have fun with your favourite songs, any style! You play any kind of music, depending on your taste. Gradually you learn to use your technique better and you feel freer when you play.

Composing songs

Seeking ways to express yourself in a more personal way? How nice is it to be able to play and sing your own songs? Discover and develop your creativity and learn how to make your own songs! Both lyrics and music!

Individual or small Groups

• Individual 30 or 45 minutes
• Small groups 60 minutes

About Teacher Carmen

Carmen van Haren is a singer and performer and multi-instrumentalist (accordion, guitar, ukulele, percussion). In her early years she studied accordion and developed herself as a composer/singer of a pop band. She performs regularly in public; often with her duo Katakat. Carmen has released several CDs. She has taken professional theatre courses and writes and performs spoken word. She taught music and drama lessons to children and has coached young adults.

Practical

Before the first lesson we talk on the phone to become acquainted. We make an appointment for a trial lesson. In the trial lesson we will discuss your goals and wishes and you will become acquainted with my teaching style. After the trial lesson you can choose a strip card of 5 or 10 lessons.
