Hello, my name is Anastasia Anufrieva. I am an all-round flutist and passionate flute teacher in Nijmegen. I have given flute lessons, to beginners and advanced,  in different languages and in different places around the world. I have gained a lot of experience to tailor the lessons exactly to your wishes.

Flute Lessons for Children

The flute is an ideal istrument for kids and teens. I would recommend starting no younger than 6. Your child learns in a playful way to read music, and general musical knowledge is also part of the lessons. The best part: Playing fun duets and well-known melodies as soon as we can!

Beginners - All Ages

No matter how young or old you are: first of all you will learn how to get the first notes out of your flute! Exciting and fun! You learn to read notes in a playful way, develop your hearing and sense of rhythm. You will find how useful it is to have some knowledge of music theory.

Flute Trial Lesson

The trial lesson is a pleasant way to discuss your goals, favourite music styles and lesson times. You also get a bit of an impression of my teaching style. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Intermediate - advanced

I can teach a wide range of styles. Remember to let me know what styles you are interested in. The lessons may cover ensemble playing, fingering technique, playing in tune, posture, sound production, breathing technique,  articulation and you learn to sing on your flute! We are looking for that beautiful warm and clear sound that we love so much!

Orchestra and Ensemble

Do you play in an orchestra or ensemble? Bring your parts to class! Thanks to useful tips, you will be able to play the most difficult passages more confidently and with greater ease at your next rehearsals!

From early Baroque to Pop Music!

I play a number of flutes myself and in different genres and styles, from classical to world music, and you can contact me for lessons on modern flute, piccolo, traverso (baroque flute) and bansuri (Indian flute).

Deepening your playing

By studying different aspects such as sound, breathing, posture and other aspects of flute playing, we will discover how all elements of playing are influenced by our personality, emotions and feelings. And in this way, playing the flute becomes much deeper and more beautiful than 'just" making music'!

About Me

I was born in Russia, in the region where the sun rises, in the Far East.I started my professional music training at the Academy of Arts in Vladivostok. During my studies there I gained a lot of experience with professional orchestras. After graduating Cum Laude, I moved to St. Petersburg, where I played chamber music with various ensembles and taught flute.

When I came to the Netherlands in 2006, I continued my education at the Conservatory in Arnhem with Peter Verduyn Lunel and then at the Conservatory in Utrecht with Aldo Baerten. During my studies in the Netherlands I took lessons, master classes and courses, including with Rien de Reede, Patrick Gallois, Philippe Bernold, Davide Formisano and Claude Lefebvre.
In addition to majoring in flute, I also trained as a piccolo with Vincent Cortvrint and as a traverso (baroque flute) with Wilbert Hazelzet and Jed Wentz. I have also taken courses in the field of early music, including with Marcello Gatti, Rachel Brown and Marc Hantai.
I regularly play, on modern and baroque flute, the St. Matthew Passion and the St. John Passion by JS Bach, Die Schopfung and Die Jahreszeiten by J. Haydn and Messa da Requiem by G. Verdi. I perform with various chamber music ensembles, including Des Nuances, Forlana and Ardito.
