Good, we can get to work and I’ll teach you how to groove in your band or how to play the low notes in your orchestra. From studying classical and Jazz bass and exploring different genres, I know that a solid technique, body awareness, good sound and timing will enable you to go very far! Are you about to enter a band but aren’t yet comfortable playing with people? Or playing together with others and sometimes don’t know what to do? Under pressure it's hard to figure it out on your own? There’s good news, I will be offering professional mentoring in a relaxed setting.
Basic Course Band Playing
The basic course takes 5 lessons and covers the basic skills and most important things you want to know.
Making your own recording and using audio editing software. If you want I’ll teach you how you can make your own recordings and will advise for finding affordable microphones.
You can learn the basics of working with audio editing software on PC & Mac as well.
Johannes moved to the Netherlands from Austria to study Jazz and classical Music at the Prins Claus conservatory and later do his masters degree in Rotterdam. During his studies he was fortunate to get to study and play with musicians out of the New York Jazz scene such as David Berkman, Paul Berner, Matt Wilson, Todd Coolman, Alex Sipiagin and many more.
He took classical Bass lessons and participated in master classes with Sorin Orcinschi, Francisco Obieta, Catalin Rotaru, Dorin Marc, Matthew Midgley and Wolfgang Güttler.
Johannes is a very active musician and part of various bands. For his solo Project, he won the 2nd Price at the “Il Sole In Cantina Award 2016”. Recently he won also 1st price at “Leiden Jazz Award 2017” with “Marco Apicella Trio”, the price for the best solist at “Erasmus Jazz Price 2017” and he was invited to play at the international Choro Festival in New York City.
