Hi, This is Tarang Poddar. I am a professional drummer with many years of experience teaching drums to students of all ages and levels. I am passionate about helping people learn to play drums and enjoy the music they love!

Lesson Location

You are welcome to join my drum lessons at my studio in Rotterdam south. Lessons will be given at Polderlaan 62A (Feijenoord area), which is within 20 minutes by public transport from anywhere in Rotterdam South

I can go to teach at your place in Rotterdam West if  you have a drum kit,

Drum Lessons for beginners

Beginner drum lessons cover basic techniques, such as how to hold the drumsticks, how to sit at the drum set, and how to play rolls and basic beats. You'll learn about rhythm and timing, and how to develop the sense of groove!

Intermediate Drum Students

Learn more advanced techniques, such as double bass drumming, brushes, fills, and soloing. Explore different musical styles, such as rock, pop, jazz, metal, funk, Latin and Indian music on drum kit.

Coaching for experienced drummers.

We work with the most advanced techniques, such as polyrhythms, complex fills and improvisation. By listening to and watching video's of iconic drummers like Steve Gadd, Roy Haynes, Zakir Hussain, Eric Harland, Mike Clark or Elvin Jones , you'll discover how they play their stuff!

Which styles?

Exploring new styles of music can be extremely inspiring and an incentive to boost your playing. I have a lot of experience with rock, pop, jazz, metal, funk, Latin, Indian rhythms, tabla and cross over jazz.

Tabla and Indian Rhythms

I am a trained tabla player, and I believe that incorporating Indian rhythms into drum lessons can help you develop a deeper understanding of (complexe) rhythms and timing. I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with you, and I look forward to helping you achieve your drumming goals.

Ensemble Lessons

In addition to individual drum lessons, I also offer percussion ensemble lessons, rhythmic training, and guided listening sessions. Ensemble lessons allow you to learn how to play drums in a group setting, which can help you develop your teamwork and communication skills. This is a great way for you to learn from each other and to build your musical community.

Online Drum Lessons

I also offer fun, comprehensive and well structured online drum sessions for beginners, intermediate and advanced players. Live feedback and instructions.
