I am Pelagia Tsiachri Renta, experienced singer and vocal coach, singing teacher in Rotterdam. My musical journey has taken me from the traditional sounds of Greek folk music to the soulful depths of Rebetiko, and even to the intriguing worlds of Ottoman music and Greek pop-folk.

Beginners - Advanced

Thanks to my holistic approach to singing, with targeted exercises, a healthy breathing technique and clear instructions, you will develop good vocal skills. You will learn techniques that ensure that both your voice and your body remain in optimal condition.

What can you expect?

Reading notes, makam theory and makam scales, improvisation techniques, intervals, ornaments and stylistic elements. We work on the correct pronunciation of Greek song lyrics.

Traditional - Makam - Pop

Explore and enjoy traditional folk music, Rebetiko, Greek pop, Laiko, Entehno or songs from regions such as Epirus and the Greek islands. Develop your creativity and improvisation skills using the proven methodology of vocal Makam music.

About me

I am a music lover with roots in Northern Greece. My love for music started early - I took my first steps on stage at the age of five.  I have a srong passion for the traditional sounds of Greek folk music, Rebetiko, Ottoman music and Greek pop-folk. As a singer in various bands based in the Netherlands, I have been fortunate enough to explore a wide range of styles, but my true passion lies in sharing my knowledge as a vocal coach.

My mission? To unleash emotions and embrace diversity. I enjoy bringing together different cultures, ideas, styles and tastes in my performances. Besides my musical career, I obtained a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in Greece, but music always kept calling! So I followed my heart to Rotterdam, where I immersed myself in the vibrant world of Ottoman music. I graduated from Codarts with a specialization in vocals through the Turkish department.

Now I focus on music pedagogy and spreading the love for Greek and Eastern Mediterranean music. Whether on stage or in the classroom, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and bringing people together through the power of music. I believe that music is more than just learning notes - it's about connecting with the cultural roots, emotional depth and expressive power behind each song. My teaching method is structured, professional and personalized, with the goal of getting the best out of each student, whether they are beginners or advanced singers. I offer one-on-one lessons, focusing on vocal technique, repertoire development and cultural context, so that students not only improve their singing skills, but also gain a deep appreciation for Greek music.
