Group Guitar Lessons for Kids

Group guitar lessons for kids between ages 5 and 8 create a fun experience learning to play the guitar and music! Learning together with friends or a family members is both enjoyable and educational. Group lessons are available for 2 to 4 children at a time.

About Me

My musical journey started at an early age. I come from a family of music lovers and some hobby musicians. During my primary school years, I took a year of percussion and ensemble lessons, but due to my upbringing, I was exposed to guitar orientated music early on, especially Rock and Blues. When I was 14, I started playing electric guitar myself and took lessons immediately with my first guitar teacher: Phil Cosby. I never looked back and my obsession with the instrument has never stopped!

Young Guitarist

At age 15, I already joined my first band, playing my first nationwide gigs, writing and recording original songs. This first experience has been life-changing. It was then that I decided I wanted to become a professional musician. This led me to completing a conservatory preparatory program at the international Malcolm Davies Music Centre in The Hague. During this time, I studied with multiple talented teachers, including Rik Fennis, Fredo Wagner and Ezequiel Menalled.
Inspiration
I was especially inspired by Progressive Rock, Instrument Rock and Metal music, but during this time, I was exposed to and influenced by many other genres and styles, including Blues, Jazz, Fusion, Funk, Classica land World music. Along with playing in bands, I also started teaching guitar privately when I was only 16 and quickly developed a passion for teaching and helping others reach their playing goals. This led me to specializing in music pedagogy for my Bachelor’s degree. Along with that, I took multiple online courses, including from Berklee Online and I participated in masterclasses from virtuoso guitarists, such as Andy Timmons and Mike Stern.

Bands

Throughout the years, I have involved a session musician, permanent band member or band leader in several (signed) bands and projects, with which I release albums and play live internationally. These include Dreamwalkers Inc, Elithium, Kristoffer Gildenlow (Kayak, Pain of Salvation, Neal Morse, For All We Know), Dan Pierson (Ayreon), TDW, ReSolve, several singer-songwriters, pop bands, cover bands and local television. I have had the pleasure and honor of being featured on albums alongside virtuoso musicians, such as Marco Sfogli, Chris Zoupa, Vikram Shankar, Mike Mills, Rich Gray, Fabio Alessandrini, Lola Damblant-Soler, Andi Kravljaca, Daniel Magdic, Frank Schiphorst, Mendel Bij de Leij and Bob Wijtsma. Next to band projects, I am currently also writing and recording my first instrumental solo material.

Guitar Teacher

I have been teaching guitar and music since 2008 with a lot of passion and enthusiasm. I have taught, coached and mentored hundreds of students to set their first steps or become better players and musicians. I have a lot of experience in both 1-on-1 and group lesson formats at local music schools, public schools, organisations, at my own music lesson studio and online. Many students of mine have gone on to release their own music, play in bands or study music at college or university level. My teaching method is modern, flexible, personal and structured – your playing goals and having fun reaching them are at the heart of my lessons!
