Singing Lessons - Wassenaar - Voorburg
Hi! My name is Liat Alkan and I am a soprano singer with over 20 years of experience as a voice teacher. Singing is the most direct way to bring out your inner musicality. I believe that through singing one can promote both musical excellence and expression.
Reach your true vocal potential!
Have you always felt uplifted when singing? Have you always wanted to sing that phrase in one breath? To reach those high notes with ease? To allow your voice to transition smoothly between high and low notes? I can help you reach your true vocal potential, and enjoy singing!
I teach advanced students, but if you have never had a voice lesson there is a place for you in my studio too. We will start from the basics of singing and of music - score reading, rhythm, sight singing and more. If you sing in a choir I can help you learn your vocal line.
All Ages Welcome
I teach students of various ages, children from the age of 9, adolescents and adults, adjusting the repertoire and the lesson to the age and ability of each student to enjoy singing while progressing musically and vocally.
Classical - Musical - Jazz - Pop
I teach classical singing technique, and apply it not only to classical pieces but also Musical Theater, Jazz and contemporary music. We choose the repertoire together, both revisiting known and loved pieces, and exploring new songs and styles.
I have experience in preparing students for various auditions and exams, for example entry exams to schools of music at universities, auditioned choirs or ABRSM/Trinity exams.
What to expect?
There are many aspects to singing and we work in our lessons on a healthy posture, breathing technique, musical expression, different styles and singing technique, such as breath support, vocal focus, and diction through a repertoire and sets of vocal exercises.
Lessons are held in a spacious studio in the center of Wassenaar and at my home in Voorburg. My studio in Wassenaar is nearby for students from Leiden. Also online singing lessons available.
