Drum and Percussion Lessons

Hi! My name is Robin Eggers and I am an English/ German percussionist and drummer living in Rotterdam. I have more than 10 years experience of teaching drums and various other percussion instruments.

Lesson Location 

I teach in my studio at Soundport close to Marconiplein with a beautiful view overlooking the skyline of Rotterdam. Most people want to sit behind a drum kit, however I do also teach other percussion instruments such as cajon, congas, djembe, various hand percussion instruments and body percussion.

Beginners – Advanced

It doesn't matter if you are a complete beginner (with no sense of time at all), or a long-time pro looking for new beats and fills. My drum lessons will show you how to play the drums with more confidence! In each lesson you will play new rhythms and grooves, and overcome various rhythmical challenges.

What to expect?

Beats, grooves and fills, stick coordination, hand/feet independency, marimba, vibes, percussion, world drums, body percussion, improvisation, solos, drum notation, basic music theory, classical, pop, latin, hip hop

Useful tool

Learning how to read music is not necessary, but it is certainly a useful tool to have in your locker! However the most important thing is to have fun and develop as a musician and drummer.

Your favourite Music

My experience ranges from classical music to rock, pop, hip hop, jazz, world music and Latin styles but also theatrical percussion, body percussion and improvisation. Whatever your musical interest, I would be happy to guide you on your rhythmic journey.

About Robin

I have been making sound by hitting objects such as pots and pans since I can remember. My first drum lesson was at the age of 7 and I continued my training to become a percussionist in Germany throughout my school years. I gained a Bachelors degree at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK and later graduated with a Masters degree from Codarts Rotterdam Conservatoire in 2014.
Since living in the Netherlands I have played with various bands and ensembles such as Slagwerk Den Haag, Asko-Schönberg Ensemble, Veenfabriek, Ensemble Klang, Het Zuidelijk Toneel and many more.
