More experienced producer?

As a DJ, musician, or rapper, you are probably already familiar with Logic, Fruity Loops, Ableton, Cubase, or Protools, but do you really want to learn how to use these tools optimally? The lessons are taught by professional and experienced teachers.

Mixing - EQ - Sounds

In a short time, you will know how to pump out your own sound and create the coolest beats yourself! Learn everything about mixing, EQ, and compression, and create your own sounds and music: producing with functional (and often free) programs.

What do you need to get started with music production?

  • Laptop/computer: ensure you have sufficient processing power
  • DAW (Digital Audio Workstation): This is the software in which you create music. Think of Logic Pro (for Mac), Ableton, FL Studio, and Cubase.
  • Microphones and keyboard
  • Audio interface: To connect instruments or microphones to your laptop/computer
  • Good headphones or studio monitors: For good sound reproduction.

How to start?

  • Mixing and mastering, online or via a course with an experienced producer
  • Start building beats and understanding your DAW by experimenting and discovering for yourself.
  • Learn basic knowledge of music theory. This is essential. You need this when writing melodies and harmonies.

Steps to make a track

  • Composing: Do you already have a melody in your head, or are you going to come up with something?
  • Development: Determine the structure of your song and see if you can find suitable chords.
  • Recording vocals or instruments: add character to your track. (drums, extra percussion, strings, wind instruments, guitar, keyboards)
  • Editing & Sound Design: Editing, assembling, or cutting audio and creating your own sounds with synthesizers
  • Mixing: all volumes and effects must be well balanced so that your sound is built up in a balanced way
  • Mastering: to ensure your track sounds good everywhere (e.g., on Spotify or live), give it a final finish or polish.
