Trial lesson

If you don't have a cello yet, you can play one of my instruments during the trial lesson. You will get an impression of the way I teach and we will discuss lesson times, location and your musical preference! I can advise you on renting or purchasing a good cello.

Private Lessons

My in person lessons offer inspiration, cello technique, classical to popular repertoire, and musicality in a custom-made situation. Enjoy the flexibility of the 5 and 10 Lesson Packs.

Young Children

Individual cello classes for young children are fun and cover music basics, singing, clapping, and musical games as a playful introduction to playing the cello. Your child will definitely enjoy the relaxed and supportive environment of my lessons.

What can you expect?

We use fun teaching materials, and your child learns to read sheet music in a playful way. With classical and popular songs, etudes, scales and duets, your child discovers the cello and the joy of music! We play duets together in the lessons!

Student concerts!

We regularly do recitals at my teaching studio! For teenagers and children I organise three concerts per year (December - March - June/July). That gives you motivation and helps to have a goal to work towards! It’s also a nice opportunity to hear other students and see each other’s progress. For my adult students, I organise two concerts per year.

Beginners

No experience with reading music yet? No problem! I'm a patient teacher and step by step you'll learn to read music, rhythms and you will be playing your first easy tunes and concert pieces! By playing duets, songs, etudes, scales, and some practical exercises you’ll develop a solid basis to create this warm cello sound we all love so much!

Intermediate - advanced

Let's explore the greater and smaller masterpieces of the cello repertoire and focus on a relaxed posture and improve what you wish to improve. You'll also be playing etudes, scales, exercises to develop your vibrato, intonation, left hand skills and bowing technique, to be able to play in your orchestra or ensemble with ease.

Classical to Popular

I'm flexible to teach you play any music style where the cello might fit in. The lessons can cover improvisation, music theory, pop and classical music, duet, ensemble playing or chamber music.

Location

I teach at my own studio, Pandora Studio, De Constant Rebecquestraat 3. It's easily accessible by public transport and it is very easy to park your car nearby. Lessons in the comfort of your own home are also possible. (Duinoord, Zeeheldenkwartier, Statenkwartier, Valkenbos-Regentessekwartier)

About Me

After having finished my musical education in The Royal Conservatory of The Hague and the Conservatori Del Liceu (Barcelona), I perform regularly with my chamber music ensemble Trio Jakob. 

Concerts

In the past year I have performed in Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom! I have also been awarded first prize in numerous international competitions and received scholarships from various foundations. 

Inspiration

I believe that being an active performer helps me to be a better teacher and can be very inspiring for my students.I am a dedicated teacher and versatile cellist who likes to explore different musical fields. I mainly play classical and contemporary music, but I have collaborated in Jazz and Pop music performances as well. I define myself as a patient and caring teacher.
