Hello! I'm Karin Strobos, mezzo-soprano and enthusiastic professional singing teacher and vocal coach in Loosdrecht. Singing and teaching is my passion and both teenagers as well as adults are welcome to my lessons.

My private singing classes are all about the joy in singing, the cooperation between sound, breathing and body, and relaxation. The lessons are flexible and tailored to your needs.

Classical to pop

Whether you love to sing opera arias, oratorios, art songs, musicals, operettas, pop, or cabaret, I'm available to help you develop your voice en choose the repertoire that matches your voice best. My singing lessons are for both amateurs and professionals.

Where do I teach?

The lessons take place at my cosy studio in Loosdrecht, nearby Kortenhoef, Breukelen and Hilversum area. Depending on location and schedule I can also come to you.

I have the knowledge, experience and tools to help you get, and keep, your voice in top shape! We make use of specialised excercises of speech therapy, like Lax Vox ("bubbling") and SOVT-Trainer.

Classical Basis

Whether you want to sing classical or pop; the best basis for this is classical singing technique, with a lot of attention to posture, breathing technique and efficient sound production.

Singers and performing on Stage

Singing can be more than just producing tones; to know and treat your whole body well is an important part. Especially when you aim to perform for an audience or when you're preparing for an audition.

Flexibility

With a lesson pack of 5 or 10 lessons we'll schedule the lesons when it fits both our calendars, you are always safe and you will never forfeit a lesson.

Online Singing Lessons

Online singing lessons offer a good solution when abroad. Online singing lessons offer live instructions, personal feedback and motivation online! We use FaceTime or Zoom for example. It works fine!

About Me

I studied classical singing at the Utrecht Conservatory (HKU). After my studies, my career immediately gained momentum. I got the opportunity to perform many leading roles at the Dutch opera companies, DNO, DRO and Opera Zuid. I achieved a permanent position in the soloist ensemble at the Aalto Theater in Essen, Germany. I am still a regular guest in Essen, just like in Cologne and Wiesbaden.

Soloist

I was a soloist to all the major orchestras in the Netherlands, and worked with conductors such as Simon Rattle, Edo de Waart, Antony Hermus, Joana Mallwitz and Tomas Netopil. In addition to opera, my great love is making chamber music, especially for people who are not familiar with classical music, can no longer come to the concert hall or children. With both Stichting Appeltaartconcerten and the Ricciotti Ensemble, i bring music to people who can use it. With Club Classsique I performed on the parade last summer and winter to appeal to a new audience. I gave master classes at conservatories in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Zwolle.
