 Hello! I am Fernando Romaguera Lara, a Spanish cellist and enthusiastic cello teacher. I have years of experience in teaching and I am happy to come to your home in Utrecht for cello lessons. 

What is a good age to start playing the cello? 

I come from a family of musicians and I started playing the cello at the age of 7. Since then, my cello and I have been inseparable. But that does not mean that when you are an adult you are too old to learn it and have a lot of fun! 

Who are the lessons for? 

My cello lessons are therefore for children and adults, beginners and advanced. Enjoying music and developing insight and skills go hand in hand. 

Trial Lesson 

In the trial lesson we get to know each other and I am curious to hear you play. You will get an impression of my way of teaching and we discuss your goals, lesson times and the strip cards. I can also advise you on renting/purchasing a cello.

Cello Lessons at Your Home

If you live in Utrecht Zuilen, Utrecht Centrum, Lombok, Overvecht, Ondiep Maarssen or Leidsche-Rijn, I can come to you for the lessons.. I can also teach online if you prefer.

Children - Playful Cello Lessons

With beautiful and playful teaching materials, your child will discover the possibiliteis of the cello, learn a proper technique and develop its musicality.  We use famous classical and popular tunes. We play duets in class. Fun in music first!

Cello Lessons - adult beginners

You will learn the basics of playing the cello in a pleasant and positive atmosphere. We use fun and modern teaching materials with famous classical and popular music pieces and exercises. You learn to read notes, develop your musical ear, basic music theory, and how to practice independently with best results. Of course we play duets for 2 cellos in your lesson!.

More experienced cellists

Have you already learned the basics and do you want to further develop your playing and musicality? With targeted exercises, beautiful performance pieces and etudes of increasing difficulty, you will develop a beautiful tone and a flexible technique. Deepen your musicality while playing the music that moves you! Classical, contemporary, pop or baroque music.

About Me

I have studied cello with many different teachers in Spain, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands. The passion they showed to share their professionalism, artistry, knowledge and skills on this instrument, inspired and continues to inspire me to become a better cellist, teacher and musician every day. 

Freelance Cellist

In addition to teaching, I am an active cellist who works as a freelancer with Dutch, German, Swiss and Spanish orchestras. I also perform in solo and chamber music concerts.
