Violin Fun for all Ages and Levels
Hello! I am Eriko Nagayama, a violinist and experienced violin teacher in The Hague. Whether you're new to violin or have been playing for years, I'd love to welcome you to my studio. During my seven years in London, I've had the pleasure of teaching around 30 students of all ages--from very young children to adults--always with warmth, care, and dedication.
Trial Lesson
Feel free to get acquainted and discuss your goals and wishes during a trial lesson. If you don't own a violin yet, I am happy to advise you on where to rent or purchase one.
Lessons at Home
My studio is in Voorburg Mariahoeve area. Depending on the distance to your location, lessons at your home in Wassenaar and The Hague are also possible, upon request.
Beginners and Violin
I grew up with the famous Suzuki books, and those beautiful pieces still live in my heart. Young children are most welcome to explore and discover the violin! I generally follow the books, but I'm happy to tailor my lessons to individual needs and preferences.
Advanced
With etudes and concert pieces from the vast violin repertoire, from Baroque to contemporary, you will develop your musicality and technique. We will work on position playing, vibrato, advanced bowing techniques, tone formation, scales, and intonation, among other things.
Discover the wonders of Baroque Music.
If you want to explore the Baroque and learn more about ornamentation, authentic performance practice, bowing technique with a Baroque bow, and discover baroque repertoire, I have much to offer!
About Me
A few years ago, I moved to the Netherlands to deepen my focus on 'early music'.I recently completed my second master's degree at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, where I graduated with Distinction.
Besides teaching, I work as a freelance violinist and actively perform as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player.
My musical interests are broad and include both contemporary repertoire and collaborations with traditional Japanese instruments.
I look forward to sharing my love of music with you!
