Hello! I'm Başak Ersöz, an award-winning flutist and dedicated teacher in the Eindhoven area. Whether you're a beginner or a more experienced flutist and musician, it's my passion to share my love of music and the flute with you!

Relaxed atmosphere

Lessons are tailored to your personal goals, and you'll discover that playing the flute improves your breathing, can reduce stress, support meditation, and bring joy to your daily life.

Trial Lesson

The best way to see if you really love the flute is to try it for a while. A trial lesson is the perfect opportunity to get acquainted with the flute. If you're experienced and simply looking for a different teacher or are starting lessons again after a long break, we can discuss your wishes and goals, and of course, I'd love to work with you!

Children age 5 and up

Children often find the flute magical. A magic flute! It's like a musical toy that sparks the imagination. I love introducing your child to music, and especially the flute!

What will your child learn?

Your child will learn to read music, and we'll discover how to conjure up a beautiful sound from the flute! We'll start with simple exercises, then quickly move on to fun modern and classical pieces, simple duets, games, and digital tools.

Why music is important?

These lessons not only build musical skills but also focus, creativity, and confidence, while prioritising enjoyment of music!

Beginners - All Ages

Everyone is welcome, regardless of age or background. You don't need to own an instrument or be able to read music. Just bring your curiosity.

How do we start?

We'll start with simple breathing and sound exercises, and you'll experience the benefits of a relaxed posture. We'll continue with your favourite music, whether it's classical, pop, or folk melodies. Reading music and basic musical knowledge are part of the lessons.

Advanced

For experienced flutists, I offer an in-depth exploration of classical repertoire, orchestral excerpts, and chamber music, from Baroque to contemporary. Enjoy the beautiful repertoire of many flute duets!

What can you expect? 

Lessons focus on breathing techniques, tone development, articulation, phrasing, music theory, finger dexterity, and adapting your sound to different musical demands.

I'm happy to guide you in preparing for concerts, competitions, and exams, offering personalised strategies based on decades of international stage experience.

Musical Styles

My lessons cover a wide range of styles, so they can be as traditional or adventurous as you like.

Languages

I teach in Turkish, English, and French, and I also speak Dutch and Italian.

Locations

Lessons take place in my home studio in Sterksel or in my teaching space in Eindhoven. In some cases, I can come to you, depending on your location.

Online Lessons

Online lessons are also available for students who prefer distance learning.

About Me

I am a flutist, teacher, composer, and founder of the International Flute Academy in the Netherlands. I hold the First Prize for Virtuosity and a Teaching Diploma from the Geneva Conservatory, both signed by Emmanuel Pahud, a distinction held by no other flutist worldwide. I also hold a master's degree and a doctorate, having studied with Emmanuel Pahud, Maxence Larrieu, Patrick Gallois, and J.M. Tanguy.

Musical Career

As a performing musician, I have performed as a soloist and served as principal flutist with leading orchestras. I was invited to be a jury member at the International Flute Congress in Nice and was awarded the academic title of professor by the State Conservatory of Istanbul University.

Composer

Besides performing and teaching, I also compose. My solo work, "Lament and Blacksea Dance," published by Scherzo Edition, was recognized by the National Flute Association in their Newly Published Music Competition in 2025. Today I combine decades of stage experience with a supportive, clear and results-oriented approach to teaching.
