Hi! My name is Konstantinos Andreou. I am a professional flautist and dedicated flute teacher in Amsterdam. Music plays a leading role in my life and fills my existence with beauty and passion! I'd love to share that with you!
Flute Lessons for All Ages
The flute is a wonderful instrument to start playing as a child, but it is also a great instrument to learn to play as an adult. And the great thing is that you can continue with it well into old age.
Intermediate - Advanced
How to take your playing to the next level? I have extensive experience as a performing musician and I am happy to help you with solo repertoire in various styles and of course orchestral and chamber music parts. We can work on:
- breath control,
- embouchure,
- posture,
- legato,
- tone quality,
- interpretation,
- classical to popular repertoire,
- ensemble- orchestra parts,
- duets for 2 flutes
Music that inspires you
During the lessons we will play flute duets in various genres. A perfect way to incorporate and applicate your technical and musical skills, insights in style and historical context. The coolest thing there is and the best way to stay motivated!
First encounter with the flute
A typical lesson may consist of warming up exercises, good posture, breathing technique and a correct embouchure; the first steps to creating a beautiful sound on the flute. Along the way you'll learn to read music and basic music theory. Many wonderful melodies and songs are waiting to get discovered and played by you!
Flute Lessons for Children
Playing a musical instrument builds confidence, makes children smarter and contributes to a better cognitive, emotional and motor development. My flute lessons for kids offer a playful teaching method.

Flute Studio in Amsterdam
You are welcome at my private flute studio in the center of Amsterdam, right behind the Rijksmuseum. Metro stop Vijzelgracht. is in front of my door. A metro stops there every 5 minutes.
Lessons at Your Home
If preferred I can come to you. With a Lesson Pack of 5 or 10 flute lessons you'll have maximum flexibility. We can discuss this option during the trial lesson.
Online Classes
I also offer fun, comprehensive and well structured online flute courses for beginners, intermediate and advanced players.
About Me
I am born in Athens where I began my flute studies at the Conservatory of Athens. After my graduation in 2002, I continued my studies in the Netherlands at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague alongside the principal flutists of Concertgebouworkest, Rien de Reede and Emily Beynon (orchestra repertoire).
Musicology
I completed my BA in Music as a member of the flute class of Prof. Thies Roorda at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen, supported by the Onassis Foundation as well as the Stichting Instrumentenfonds Willem van Lier Fonds. I graduated at the University of Athens (Music Studies) and am holder of a Research Master in Musicology acquired at the Research Institute for History and Culture (OGC) – University of Utrecht.
Soloist
I have performed as a soloist with the Orchestra of Patras (Saulious Sondeckis), and as a principal flutist with the Orchestra of the Bach Academy of Stuttgard (dir.:Helmuth Reilling) and with HSO (Groningen –The Netherlands). I have performed in Athens and The Netherlands with various chamber music ensembles. Since 2014 I am the principal flute and member of the Board of Directors of the Nederlands Camerata.
