Trumpet Lessons Amsterdam
Hello, I am Dima Loginov, all-round trumpet player and conservatorium certified trumpet teacher in Amsterdam. I'm from Kazakhstan and was introduced to music when I was 5 years old. My father introduced me to a lot of music, and it immediately captivated me! After taking piano lessons, I became fascinated by the trumpet and soon discovered jazz!
All Genres
With a good technical basis you will be able to play any kind of music you fancy. From classical music, funk, salsa, jazz, hiphop to brassband or any other genre.
Practice Routine
A proper warm-up is the basis for good fitness and a great and clear sound. Routines contain the basic types of exercises that are effective for each player's level. I'll give you all instructions, tips & tricks to train your embouchure and develop a perfect breath control for a beautiful sound!
Is improvisation difficult to learn?
Well, maybe it's a bit awkward at first, but with clear instructions, analysing how great trumpet players build up their solos, and imitating, you can truly learn to improvise. Discover how insights in music theory, scales, pentatonic scales, Jazz harmony, complexe rhythms and structures help you to expand your creativity.
Why a Trial Lesson?
In the trial lesson we discuss your wishes and goals and you try out the trumpet if you never tried before. If you already have more experience, I would of course like to hear you or your child play! You will get an impression of my way of teaching.

Trumpet for Children
A good age for kids to start playing the trumpet is at around 6-10 years of age. However if your child is very small for the age, then a trumpet can actually be pretty heavy to hold. A good alternative is to start out with the cornet, instead of the trumpet. Don't worry, it is easy to switch from the cornet to the trumpet, later on, or play both instruments.
Your Heroes?
I always get inspired by listening to Clark Terry, Arturo Sandoval, Lee Morgan, Freddy Hubbard, Chet Baker, Roy Hargrove, Ibrahim Maalouf and Miles Davis. I'm curious to hear who your heroes are!
Where do I teach?
I give the trumpet lessons at my studio in Amsterdam, but I can also come to you. I may charge travel costs on top of the lesson, depending on the distance.
About Me
I completed my Bachelor's degree in Classical and Jazz Trumpet at the National Academy of the Arts in Kazakhstan with Professor Zhurgerov. I'm currently in the final stages of my Master's degree at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
Concerts and Festivals
I regularly perform at festivals both in the Netherlands and abroad, with various ensembles, from classical orchestras to jazz bands and everything in between.
