Hello! I'm Juan Gabriel Romano. I'm a professional pianist and piano teacher in Rotterdam. Teaching piano isn't just my job; it's my passion! I started playing the piano at the age of six as a fun pastime, which has grown into a fantastic professional career.

First steps?

If you're new to the piano, even without any prior music knowledge, you are warmly invited to my lessons. As a dedicated teacher, I strive to uncover the best learning approach for each student and adapt my methods to suit your individual style. Classical repertoire is perfect for learning a good technique and developing your interpretive skills. 

How?

Step by step I will introduce all key aspects of piano playing: technique, reading sheet music and some music theory. With personalised exercises and easy classical and famous tunes, you'll develop a solid basis. Enjoy your progress while playing your favourite music!

Why a trial lesson?

Before you decide to take lessons, it's helpful to get acquainted. A trial lesson is a great opportunity to do so. We'll play a bit and discuss your goals, musical interests, lesson times, lesson packs, and location. You'll get a feel for my teaching style right away. I look forward to meeting you!

We will focus on your specific goals and classical repertoire. We typically delve into famous pieces by a.o. Mozart, Haydn, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Ginastera, Bach or Beethoven to enhance your technique and interpretive skills.

Tango

As a professional performer in tango music, I can also introduce you to this vibrant genre.

Effective Studying

With a busy schedule for work or school, you sometimes might have little time for the piano, right? I provide guidance on effective home practice to help you develop enjoyable study habits and reach your goals. Develop your technique in a short time to express your musicality.

Music Theory

It's common knowledge that understanding chords, harmony, counterpoint, and music theory helps improve your playing and adds depth and expressiveness to your interpretation. Even if you're preparing for university or conservatory studies, I'm here to support you every step of the way.

My Studio

You are welcome at my comfortable studio in Blijdorp, Rotterdam. I also offer lessons at your home , if preferred.

About Me

I am an Argentinian and Italian pianist and teacher, and I started playing the piano at age six as a fun pastime, which blossomed into my lifelong passion and career. As a professional classical musician, I have expanded my repertoire to include Argentine tango and my own musical arrangements, enriching both my musical and pedagogical journey. 

Soloist

I perform actively as a soloist and in chamber ensembles. I hold a Master’s degree in Music Piano from CODARTS University of the Arts (Rotterdam), and my current projects include Opustango Quinteto and Fuego Sur.
