Evi Bosman - Singing Teacher in Rotterdam 

Hi, I'm Evi, a Rotterdam-based singer-songwriter, vocal coach, and passionate believer that every voice deserves to be heard. I write and perform indie-folk music under my own name, creating songs that balance vulnerability with atmospheric textures. In 2022, I released my debut EP, All That Remains. Artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Radiohead, Adrienne Lenker, and Helena Deland have had a lasting influence on both my songwriting and sound.

Music has taken me from Arnhem to London, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Jazz & Pop Vocals at ArtEZ University of the Arts and later completed a Master's degree in Songwriting at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance.

Private Singing Lessons

Alongside my own artistic work, I teach private singing lessons and coach singers of all levels. My approach combines solid vocal technique with curiosity, creativity, and confidence, because great singing isn't about sounding like someone else, but about discovering your own voice.

Singing Lessons, from what Age? 

I prefer teaching students aged 12 and up, whether you're a complete beginner or already have some experience. My teaching covers:

Enjoyment and personal growth

My lessons put your personal development and enjoyment of singing at the centre of everything. Technique and interpretation go hand in hand for me, both are ways of approaching a song and telling a story. Healthy vocal use is something I care about deeply, and it’s my intention to have every student leave their session feeling good.

How your instrument sounds and feels can vary from day to day, or even moment to moment. That's why I always tailor exercises and lesson materials to your specific situation and goals.

Structured Singing Lessons

We start with a short physical and vocal warm-up to check in with our bodies and voices, how are we doing today? Think about exercises like:

• ‘bubbling’ using the LaxVox method  
• singing through various vowel-sounds at the piano 
• a gentle, gradual build if you're having any vocal issues  
• loosening up the larynx and surrounding muscles 
• posture and movement 

Then we get to work on songs you love, or songs you've always wanted to be able to sing. You might already have a playlist of favourites, that becomes the starting point for your repertoire, and we build on it together. I'll give you focused guidance on how to sing those songs in a healthy and authentic way, with attention to lyrics and expression.

Singing with Microphone and Stage Presence 

Looking for ways to sound your singing best? You'll learn how to hold the mic and avoid adding distracting noises. I'll show you my pro mic techniques. Besides technique and interpretation, we also explore stage presence, microphone technique, and performing live. Audition preparation, for conservatoires or pre-conservatoire programmes, is also possible. 

Songwriter Lessons 

Would you like to learn how to write your own songs, or develop the ones you've already started? Alongside singing lessons, I also teach songwriting. I'd love to help you find your sound and guide you through the process of writing and editing your work.

Band coaching

When I work with a band, we start by talking through your goals and ambitions, and together we map out a plan.

Singing Studio Soundport

Lessons take place at Soundport, just near Marconiplein in Rotterdam. The studio is fully equipped with drums, PA, piano, guitar, and microphones. Free parking is available in front of the building, and there is an elevator inside.

About Me

What am I up to musically? I currently play as a multi-instrumentalist with Roos Meijer (violin, keys, and backing vocals), and I'm busy preparing my next album. I'm recording it at the Batavierhuis, a creative maker's space in Rotterdam where I've been collaborating with producer Max Abel since 2021.
