Hello! I'm Alba Meza, a professional violinist and passionate violin teacher based in Rotterdam.

I grew up in Argentina, where I specialised in classical music, tango and Latin American folk music. After moving to the Netherlands, I completed my studies at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, specialising in Baroque violin.

Alongside teaching, I work as a freelance violinist, performing regularly with orchestras across the Netherlands and internationally. I bring this real-life performance experience into every lesson. Complete beginners

Have you always dreamed of learning the violin or viola, but never found the right moment? This is your chance! In a relaxed and encouraging environment, you'll learn the fundamentals of the instrument, develop your musical ear, read music and soon be playing your first melodies and duets. No previous experience is required, just curiosity and enthusiasm.

Experienced violinists

Do you already play in an orchestra, chamber ensemble or mainly on your own, and would like to take your playing to the next level? Whether you want to improve your technique, expand your repertoire, explore new musical styles or prepare for auditions or performances, I can help. Together we'll work on areas such as:

Music theory made practical

Learning music theory doesn't have to be dry or complicated. I integrate theory naturally into each lesson, helping you to play with greater confidence, understand the music you're performing. develop your musical interpretation an listen more actively. Even compose your own music if you'd like.

Theory becomes a practical tool that immediately supports your playing.

My students range in age from 5 to 77 years old. Every stage of life brings different goals and challenges, but one thing remains the same: learning should always be enjoyable. I adapt my teaching methods and repertoire to suit each individual student, so lessons remain inspiring, effective and fun.

Lesson location

Lessons take place in my cosy home studio in Oude Noorden, Rotterdam, just 8 minutes by bike from Rotterdam Central Station or around 20 minutes by public transport.
The studio is equipped with additional instruments for accompaniment, allowing us to play together and make each lesson more interactive and musical.

Home lessons within Rotterdam North and the city centre can also be arranged by appointment.
