Hi! I’m Boldizsar Szollosi, a Hungarian percussionist and professional drum teacher based in Wassenaar. I hold a Master’s degree in Pecussion from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, and I teach drum set and other percussion from my private studio. My studio is easily accessible for students from Leiden, Oegstgeest, and Voorschoten area.

Drum Lessons for Children and Adults

Always wanted to play the drums? Or already play and want to take your drumming to the next level? Whether you’re a complete beginner, looking for motivating drum lessons for your child, getting back into drumming after a few years, or already playing at an intermediate level, lessons are tailored to your level, your goals and the music you enjoy.

No Experience? No Problem! 

You don’t need to know anything about drums before you start. We can begin with the basics and gradually build your technique, coordination, timing and confidence.

Already have some experience? Great! 

We can focus on whatever you would like to improve — from playing tighter grooves and better fills to developing your independence, musicality and overall technique.

Depending on your interests and experience, lessons can include:

My approach is not just about learning what to play, but understanding why and how it works. Developing your sense of rhythm and learning to read music can help you become a more confident and independent drummer.
The goal is to help you become a drummer who can listen, react and make music!

More Than Just a Drum Kit!

My studio also has melodic percussion instruments such as a marimba and vibraphone, as well as a wide range of percussion instruments. I’d love to give you the opportunity to explore these instruments and bring them into your drum lessons, adding new sounds, rhythms and musical ideas to your playing!

About Me

I’m a professional percussionist with a particular interest in contemporary music, ensemble playing and artistic collaboration.
I have worked with HIIIT (formerly Slagwerk Den Haag) and performed with Kluster5, taking part in large-scale ensemble productions, contemporary performances and interdisciplinary projects.
Although my background is in classical percussion, my musical interests are much broader. I enjoy jazz, pop and electronic music, and I also produce electronic music myself.

Lessons take place in my studio in Wassenaar, in a relaxed and friendly environment. English-speaking expats are very welcome! No Dutch is required.

We’ll have a chat about your musical interests and experience, spend some time behind the kit, and discuss what you would like to learn. Whether you’re completely new to drums or already have some experience, we’ll start from where you are and work towards where you want to go. Bring your favourite music, your curiosity and your drumsticks.  I’ll take care of the rest.
