Private Violin Lessons for All Levels - Schiebroek
Are you moved by the sound of the violin and passionate about music? Then you are never too old to start learning, pick up the violin again, or take your playing to the next level. As a beginner, you will discover step by step how rewarding and enjoyable playing the violin can be. If you are already an experienced player, we can work on developing a freer, more expressive and technically stronger sound.
Classical to pop
Whether you love classical music, pop, film music, or something completely different, there is room for the music you enjoy in my violin lessons.
Experienced and Passionate Violin Teacher
Hi! I’m Marite Sainz Palacios, an experienced, conservatory-trained and passionate violin teacher based in Schiebroek.
Children and Adults
My violin lessons for children and adults are personal, focused and tailored to each student. You can expect clear guidance, carefully chosen repertoire and plenty of room to explore your own musical interests. Most importantly, we make music together in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Can I Take a Trial Lesson?
Absolutely! I like to start with a personal introduction and a conversation about what you would like to learn and what you hope to achieve. During the trial lesson, we will of course play some music as well. Is this your first time ever holding a violin? No problem! I have an instrument available for you to try. If you don’t have your own violin yet, I can also advise you on renting or buying one.
All Levels Welcome
Already playing regularly and looking to improve your technique, play more freely, or prepare for orchestra or chamber music? You are very welcome to come and meet me and see what we can work on together.
Violin Lessons for Children
Children learn to play the violin in a playful and musical way. Through musical games, singing, learning to read music and playing together, they gradually develop a strong musical foundation. Above all, the lessons are about enjoying music. Children discover not only how to play the violin, but also how much fun it can be to make music.
Adults Starting the Violin
Have you always wanted to learn to play the violin? You are never too old to start! With carefully designed exercises, you will gradually develop a relaxed and natural technique. We will also make music together during the lessons.
I work with a range of excellent violin methods
I choose material that suits your level, learning style and musical interests. My classes may cover a mixture of easy, playful classical and popular songs, Suzuki and other methods. My beginner lessons offer also basic theory, reading music, scales and rhythms. You'll be playing easy tunes, songs and little duets and you'll have fun in making music.
This way, you can build your skills and confidence while enjoying the process.
Already an Advanced Player? Take Your Playing Further
Would you like to play difficult passages from orchestral or chamber music repertoire with greater ease and freedom? Or perhaps you want to refresh your technique and take your playing to a higher level?
We can work specifically on:
- technique
- tone production
- intonation
- vibrato and musical expression
You will work on études, scales, concertos and performance pieces that match your goals.
The aim is not simply to play the notes correctly, but to feel increasingly free and confident on your instrument and to express your own musical voice
Discover the Viola?
Many violinists want to try the viola and play in an orchestra or ensemble. If you are curious to try and looking for viola lessons, you came to the right person!
Body Awareness
A relaxed posture contributes to a warm, open, beautiful sound. Therefore I incorporate aspects of body awareness, Alexander Technique, Tai Chi, meditation and cos-art in the violin lessons
Baroque Violin
Curious what it would feel like to play Bach, Vivaldi, Telemann or any other baroque composer on a baroque violin with gut strings and a historical bow? I specialised in baroque violin and love to share my passion for historical context and baroque music with you. Lots of information about trills, ornaments, phrasing and articulation on authentic instruments.
Orchestra - Ensemble
Orchestral or chamber music parts present quite often challenging passages. I will gladly guide you through the preparations of your orchestra or chamber music parts and scores. I’ll advise you on bowings and fingerings.
Busy Bee?
Max flexibility with the 5 or 10 lesson 'Strippenkaart'. You'll never forfeit a lesson
Online Violin Classes
I also offer fun, comprehensive and motivating online lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced players. Live feedback and instructions!
About Me
My name is Marite Sainz. I teach violin and also viola in Schiebroek Hillegersberg. I come from Spain and live many years in The Netherlands, where I came to study violin. I finished my bachelor degree in classical violin in Rotterdam and then I studied a Master degree in baroque violin and viola in Utrecht.
Early Music
Afterwards I studied Early Music Ensemble Singing in Tilburg and Advanced Vocal Ensemble Studies in Basel, Zwitserland. I have played with diverse ensembles in The Netherlands and abroad, mostly classical and baroque but also world music, musical, pop and tango.
Experience
Thanks to the different styles that I have learned and played it is easy for me to meet the various musical wishes of each student and help them find their way in music making.
Through my own journey in music, I have learned to 'sing' on the instrument, whichever instrument I am busy with. I have also searched for more and more body freedom in making music.
Body Awareness and Music
This research was supported by different techniques like Yoga, Alexander Technique, Tai Chi and Oefentherapie (Mensendieck-Cesar).
Master
My research of the master degree was based on body consciousness in the expression of musical 'affects', and this is a subject that I like to apply while teaching. I also like to 'translate' the musical language in gestures, and even in words, as a tool for the student to make the musical expression of his own.
Constant development
Because of frequently playing with baroque and classical ensembles where instrumental music is combined with vocal music, I can keep the subject mentioned above alive and in constant development.
