Cello Lessons for Children

Children learn best when lessons are engaging, encouraging and enjoyable. Through songs, games and carefully chosen exercises, they gradually develop their musical ear, sense of rhythm, note reading and instrumental technique. By learning through play, children quickly gain confidence and soon begin playing their first pieces together with me.

Beginner Cello Lessons

It's never too early or too late to start learning the cello. Many of my students begin as adults, while others discover the instrument as children.

I combine the strengths of several modern cello methods to create structured and enjoyable lessons. Together we'll build a strong technical foundation while developing a beautiful tone from the very beginning. No previous musical experience is required.

Learn the Cello Step by Step

If you've never played an instrument before, don't worry. We'll start with the basics, including posture, bow technique, note reading and rhythm, before gradually exploring more advanced musical skills. After only a few lessons you'll already be able to play simple melodies, and we'll regularly play together to develop confidence, listening skills and musical expression.

Advanced Cello Lessons

If you're already playing the cello and would like to refine your technique or prepare for auditions, performances or ensemble playing, lessons are individually tailored to your level and ambitions.

Drawing on my experience as a professional orchestral musician, I share practical techniques that make rehearsals and performances more enjoyable and successful.

Lesson Location

Private cello lessons take place in my welcoming studio in Rotterdam Blijdorp, easily accessible from the city centre and surrounding neighbourhoods.

Online Cello Lessons

If travelling isn't convenient, I also offer online cello lessons via Zoom. Online lessons are suitable for both beginners and advanced players and provide a flexible way to continue your musical development wherever you are.

About Me

I was born in Italy and moved to Munich, Germany, at the age of four. I began studying the cello there with Jan-Peter Close and Karin Sassmannshaus through the children's programme of the Munich Conservatory.

I later continued my studies with Anja Fabricius, Rupert Buchner and Hanno Simons before moving to the Netherlands to complete my Master's degree with Herre-Jan Stegenga at Codarts University of the Arts Rotterdam.

Performing Career

Alongside my studies, I began performing with professional orchestras in Germany and the Netherlands while building an active chamber music career.

I regularly perform at renowned international festivals, including the Rheingau Festival, Gstaad Menuhin Festival and Chiemsee Festival.

Since 2014 I have been a member of the Shalom Ensemble in Munich, the Camille Claudel Trio, and since 2018 the Rotterdam-based Phoenix Ensemble. I also perform chamber music regularly with distinguished clarinettist Letizia Maulà.
