Hello! I’m Leonor Biu. I am a classical singer, and, alongside my performing career, a dedicated singing teacher based in Rotterdam. With great care, enthusiasm, and attention to each student, I create a supportive and motivating learning environment.

Sing Classical Music to Portuguese Fado

My experise is classical singing, (opera, oratorio, classical song, musical), but I'm also passionate about other genres such as Brazilian MPB, Latin American repertoire, and Portuguese fado!

In my lessons, we focus on building a healthy and reliable vocal technique, with posture and breathing as its foundation. Personal instructions, exercises and clear explanation help you develop a flexible, sustainable voice, sing with greater ease, and approach challenging repertoire with confidence.

Singing Lessons for All Ages

My lessons are open to children, teenagers and adults. Whether you want to start from zero, prepare for auditions, improve your vocal skills, sing in a choir, or simply enjoy singing more, you are welcome.

Trial Lesson

The trial lesson is a nice and personal way to get acquainted. I'm looking forward to hearing your voice and to learn more about your musical preferences. You will get an impression of how I teach. After your trial lesson, you can start with a strip card of 5 or 10 lessons.

Singing Studio Rotterdam West

I give the lessons at my singing studio in de Jan van Vughtstraat in Rotterdam West, Middelland. Easily accesible by tram, bike and public transport

What can you expect?

• You do not need prior musical knowledge or the ability to read music. 
• Each lesson is adapted to your level, learning style, and personal goals. 
• Reading music and basic music theory are integrated in the lessons.

I love to speak different languages!

I teach in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian, and I am always happy to adapt to the language you feel most comfortable with. My Dutch is developing, so if you dare, we can certainly give it a try!

Why I love to sing?

I sing because it makes me genuinely happy. Singing helps me understand myself emotionally, explore my identity, and find balance, especially in challenging moments.

Why I love teaching?

Singing is a source of joy! Through my teaching, I hope to pass on this experience to you. I want you to feel connected to your voice, confident in your abilities, and proud of your progress. Singing should be a source of joy, self-expression, and personal growth, and I am happy to guide you on this journey.

Music has been my life companion

Being raised in a musical family, I started studying music and the transverse flute at a conservatory in Lisbon at 6 years old. This long journey with the transverse flute later led me to singing and to the beginning of my life in the Netherlands. I completed my Bachelor's at Conservatorium Maastricht and later the Master’s at Codarts Rotterdam.

Alongside music, I studied Public Relations and Communication, and I worked for three years at a media agency in Lisbon.
