Michał has a strong sense of humility when teaching, which allows one to feel comfortable to talk about performance, pace of training, and gaps to work on openly. I hadn’t touched my violin for at least 10 years when I met Michał in Holland (I had just moved there..). When we met for the first time, the first thing I told him was that he had 6 months to help me play Vivaldi Four Seasons, Summer. Anyone hearing this would easily scoff at the idea of it. But Michał took the challenge with utmost humility and made me feel like I am not as crazy as I sounded!! We had good fun during lessons trying to test different techniques to play such a technical piece. Unfortunately, I had to leave Holland earlier than expected so he could not accomplish his mission in 6 months, but his sheer willingness to take this on and the patience accompanied with it was truly empowering. I continue to play back at home and the tricks he taught me are life-changing. Thank you for not only being a teacher, but a true friend who believed in me.
