I’ve been taking saxophone lessons with Andrea Leone for the past 2 years, and it’s been one of the best musical experiences I’ve had so far. As a total beginner who was passionate about jazz music, I wanted to find a teacher who could make learning both fun and approachable.

Each lesson is structured but flexible, lasting about 1 hour.  Andrea focuses on developing good fundamentals like embouchure, breath control and tone. We started playing actual songs early on and we also did a lot of jazz improvisations. What I appreciate most is how he adapts the lessons to my pace and needs. If I’m struggling with a fingering pattern, we slow down, if I’m progressing quickly, he adds more challenging pieces.

In less than a year, in 2023, I was able to play “Hit the road Jack” perfectly during the Christmas Concert that he organized together with his partner. My tone quality and timing have improved noticeably, and I now feel comfortable reading basic sheet music.

Andrea is a patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic teacher. He explains concepts clearly, demonstrates techniques, and always gives constructive feedback. His passion for music makes every session enjoyable. Communication is great, and he’s flexible with scheduling.

The lessons are reasonably priced compared to other local teachers, and the value is outstanding given the level of personal attention.
